Visitor's Handbook

Thank you for choosing us for your stay. We want to do everything possible to provide you with the best lodging experience. It is our goal to ensure you will want to visit us again. We are always available if you have questions or there is something we can do to improve your time with us.

Please note, parties are strictly prohibited.

Absolutely no smoking or vaping inside the home.

Do not leave children unattended in the hot tub.

Here are some important items to note about your upcoming stay:

Exact address to be provided after confirmed reservation

DIRECTIONS FROM SEATTLE:

From I-5, follows signs to 101/WA-8 West and US-12 West to Aberdeen - turn left on H street - turn left to stay on WA-105 South and a right on Cranberry Road. GPS is correct.

We have several full time neighbors in our small community located on a private lane - PLEASE DRIVE 10 MPH or less on our street. You will often see deer and other wildlife, so drive with caution and respect for the neighbors. Parking is plentiful - we have an over-sized flat, gravel driveway.

We do have active security cameras on the exterior of the home only.

CHECK IN/OUT:

Check-in time is at 12pm. For early check-in or late departure requests, please contact us. If we can make it happen, we are happy to accommodate--we know how hard it can be to leave! We are also open to extending stays - just reach out on the early side so we can coordinate with our housekeeping team.

Upon departure: Please dispose of any trash into the garbage receptacle. Start the dishwasher (pods located under the kitchen sink). No need to strip beds. Please leave towels on the laundry room floor. Remove all personal food items, including condiments. Don't forget to log-out of any TV apps. PLEASE CLOSE AND LOCK ALL WINDOWS - the winds shift regularly and wind driven rain can cause tremendous damage if windows are left open. Thanks for your extra attention to this detail upon departure.

PETS:

We welcome our furry friends! To ensure we can maintain a pet-friendly home, we kindly ask for your help in keeping things tidy. Here are our requests and offerings for dogs:

  • We have a designated "dog closet," located across from the pantry, which includes two dog bowls, one large water bowl, poop bags, and dog-specific towels and blankets.

  • Please remember to pick up all dog waste in the yard and on the beach. Failure to do so will impact your reviews and result in a $50 cleanup fee.

  • While we prefer dogs not to be on beds or furniture, if they must join you, please use the dog-friendly blankets provided to help keep the space clean.

  • Dogs should not be left unattended.

  • For smaller dogs, the laundry room sink is ideal for post-beach bathing. Shampoo not provided.

  • There is a $100 non-refundable pet fee for dogs (two dog max, case dependent). Any excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged separately.

Please note that we are not cat-friendly at this time.

TOILETRIES:

This unit is on a septic system - PLEASE do not flush anything besides toilet paper--no flushable wipes, feminine hygiene products, etc.

We offer Element Brooklyn products including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. Forget something? Each bathroom has spare toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, mouth wash, and makeup wipes are available for convenience.

BEACH ETIQUETTE:

While we are oceanfront, there is a bit of a walk out to the beach, so we recommend packing rubber boots, especially during the wetter months. An elevated beach path is coming soon! You are also welcome to drive on the beach — the nearest access point is Cranberry Road. Please note that driving on or through the dunes is illegal. The beach itself is considered a public highway, so standard driving rules and caution should be observed. Beach bonfires are welcome when burn bans are not in effect - please familiarize yourself with the local beach rules and regulations here: Washington State Seashore Conservation Area Rules.

NATURAL SURROUNDINGS:

Remember that we are located in a heavy nature area. Be aware of your surroundings and watch for bears, coyotes and other wildlife. Also, be mindful of leaving doors open as it is an inviting place for many unwelcome visitors, including pesky insects during the warmer months.

HOUSE TIPS:

Blinds: The blinds in the living room operate via remote control. These two remotes are located on the backside of the post at the bottom of the staircase.

Car Charging: We have a Tesla charger in the garage and a J1772 adapter. There is a Tesla Super Charger located in Aberdeen.

Heat Control: Our heat is via heat pump for both heat & air conditioning. There is one thermostat located outside the bathroom on the lower level which controls the temperature for the entire home.

Fire Pit: There is a propane fire feature located in the yard. Please note that the lid is very heavy and typically requires 2–3 people to remove safely. If your group may have difficulty moving it, just let us know in advance and we’ll be happy to uncover it prior to your arrival. You’ll find the key and lighter in the upper kitchen drawer to the left of the dishwasher. Please do not cook food or burn anything other than the provided propane fire feature in the fire pit.

Generator: We have a generator which cycles Sunday afternoon around 4pm - it lasts roughly 10 minutes. In the event that you lose power, the generator will automatically turn on. In order to maximize the generator potential in the event of a power outage, please unplug and/or turn off any unnecessary lights and items that are not absolutely needed. We have flashlights in a laundry room drawer.

Floors: Pack your slippers/house shoes. We do our best to keep the sandy beach footwear in the garage. Additionally, we ask that you remove shoes prior to walking on the carpet upstairs to keep it clean. There is a stick vacuum in the pantry and a carpet vacuum in the office.

Tsunami Alarm: On the first Monday of each month, at noon, there is a test run of the Tsunami alarm. It's loud and can be startling--we will try our best to remind you of this event if it falls during your stay.

Patio Cushions: We store the patio cushions and pillows in the garage as they do get wet overnight.

Hot Tub: Our hot tub has a 4-person capacity. We secure the cover with a strap, as strong coastal winds can occasionally blow the lid open. Please note that the cover is somewhat heavy, so we recommend opening and closing it with two people. A manual hot tub vacuum and debris net is located in the garage should any sand need to be cleaned out. Hot tub towels are provided in each bathroom for your convenience.

Owner Storage: Please be aware we have a several owner storage closets. These closets are locked and should not be accessed.

Accidents happen: If something happens, no big deal! Please inform us immediately about anything that needs replacement or repair. We value your feedback, as it helps us manage maintenance and repairs efficiently. Feel free to text or call us at any time.

LOCAL DINING & AMENITIES:

While you are here, we absolutely encourage you to support local businesses.

Our personal favorite is The Wandering Goose located in the Tokeland Hotel - best to make reservations, hours are seasonal dependent. Roughly a 20-minute (gorgeous!) drive.

The Local Bar- which is within walking distance from the house. Great pub fare, pull tabs and strong (!) drinks.

Blackbeard Brewing is always a hit! Fabulous pizza and menu, kid and pet-friendly, great outdoor patio. Conveniently located by the grocery store in Westport.

Grayland Outfitters offers a nice selection of wine, beer, cheese and fun souvenirs. The owner, Erin, is always happy to help you pick out the perfect bottle of whatever it is you are looking for.
